TDi & Diesels
Turbo charged Direct
Injection diesel engine, hence TDi. Developed by Audi but
now used in most of the VW group's cars, specifically VW,
Audi, Seat and Skoda. Audi has developed 3 cyl (1.2L
& 1.4L), 4 cyl (1.9L), 5 cyl (2.5L), V6 (2.5L), V8 (3.3L)
and V10 (4.2L) TDi engines, with at V12 to come. There
are several versions of the 4 cylinder 1.9 litre engine,
the different versions are indicated by red lettering of
their TDi badge.
- TDi (no red) are 66 Kw/90 HP engines, there are two versions: an older 202 Nm/149 ftlb and a newer 210 Nm/155 ftlb engine.
- TDi (red I) means a 82 Kw/110 HP engine.
- TDi (red Di) is a 86 Kw/115 HP pump-düse engine.
- TDi (all red) is used for the 150 HP engine announced at IAA Frankfurt 99.
